The Branch Manager for the Birmingham Office is responsible for overseeing the operational, sales, sales, financial, and strategic direction of the Birmingham Branch. This leadership role requires a results-driven individual who can manage branch performance, lead a diverse team, drive revenue growth, and ensure the highest levels of customer satisfaction in the delivery of Building Automation System solutions.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Provide leadership and direction to operations, sales, and project teams for the Central and North Alabama Team from the Birmingham, Alabama office location.
  • Drive branch profitability by managing budgets, forecasting, and ensuring revenue and margin targets are met.
    Working with the Solutions Sales Consultant(s) and Estimator, work to develop new market share and customers within the territory as well as continuing to develop relationships with existing customer base.
  • Working with the Operations and Sales Teams, work to execute strategic plans to grow the branch’s presence and market share in the Birmingham area.
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships with key commercial, healthcare, education, industrial, and government clients.
  • Ensure quality project execution, on-time delivery, and compliance with safety and operational standards.
  • Recruit, mentor, and retain high-performing team members; support training and career development initiatives.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to align with company goals and initiatives.
  • Lead contract negotiations, risk assessments, and cost control strategies

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Demonstrate teamwork with branch personnel consisting of Sales Management, SSC, Operations Manager, Area Manager and Company Installation and Startup Teams.
  • Assist in pre-proposal of complex projects or projects involving complex retrofit of existing systems/facilities.
  • Provide input to sales team on project installation considerations, potential risks, experience on similar jobs, time requirements based on project size, complexity and current workload in order for actual costs to be more accurately estimated.
  • Responsible for the implementation of professional standards for GSA Engineering practices, GSA Project Procedures Handbook, GSA Installation Subcontractor Standards.
  • Conduct oneself in a professional manner consistent with the values set forth in the Company Mission Statement.

QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, EXPERIENCE):

  • Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or minimum 4 years of management experience with a HVAC Controls/DDC Company or factory branch office.
  • Minimum of 6 years of progressive experience in building automation, HVAC controls, or a related technical field.
  • Knowledgeable in DDC control theory and applications pertaining to the HVAC/control industry.
  • Skilled in use of personal computers with software Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office, database management tools and other software that may be utilized by company.

Able to visit job construction hard hat areas and climb stairs, maneuver in and around pipework and air ducts and work safely near exposed line voltage and low voltage wiring and terminations and climb an 8’ ladder without assistance.
Possesses valid state motor vehicle license and possesses safe driving record as required by company’s insurance carrier.
Participates in and supports the company’s drug free workplace program.
