Overview

The leader of our Design Engineering team is responsible for assigning, tracking and reviewing all project designs, submittals and sequences of operations. We strive to continually develop our employees' skills and as the Lead Design Engineer, you will directly impact the advancement of our Design Engineers, ensuring they have the support they need. The Lead Design Engineer is also responsible for developing the control systems design & sequence of operations for large, complex systems. You will work closely with our sales department, project managers, field personnel and programming engineers to ensure the project's success.

Job Responsibilities

The following list captures the general responsibilities; however, each project has different specifications, goals, environmental conditions, and financial considerations.

· Leads the Design Engineering team with the responsibility of assigning all projects and adjusting assignments to best meet the project requirements

· For large complex projects.

· Develop engineered design drawings that meet the intent of the project scope and provide for the intended performance of the system(s).

· Develop a Sequence of Operation to communicate system hardware design and define system programming requirements and operational parameters.

· Delegate tasks to team members, to match and challenge their developing skillsets.

· Perform QA/QC on all designs and SOOs to ensure it meets company standards, project scope and design intent.

· Continually track, review, and assist (if needed) all projects to ensure deadlines are met.

· Facilitate the training and development of new engineers.

· Act as a liaison between across all project team members to facilitate communication and address technical questions and concerns.

· Takes initiative and develops new engineering standards.

· In all job activities, maintain project integrity and company reputation through compliance with industry and company standards and best practices as defined by company leadership.

Education & Experience Requirements

Required: BS in Mechanical, Electrical or Aerospace Engineering

Preferred: 4 - 5+ years of related (HVAC, building controls, construction) work

Technical Requirements

· Knowledge and understanding of all HVAC systems as it relates to controls.

· Advanced knowledge of control systems and design principles.

· Ability to interpret HVAC mechanical plans and specifications.

· Good project visualization and schematic design skills required.

· Competence with Microsoft Office & Visio.

· Proficiency in technical writing.

· Ability to explain technical information to technical and non-technical audiences.

· Mechanical aptitude and engineering common sense is a necessity.

· Knowledge of Automated Logic ecosystem a plus.

· Must have a valid California Driver's License and a clean record.
