We are seeking a dynamic, results-driven BAS Business Development Specialist to drive growth in our Building Automation and HVAC Controls portfolio. This role is responsible for identifying new business opportunities, expanding relationships with new and existing customers, and positioning our BAS solutions as the go-to answer for energy efficiency, operational excellence, and smart buildings.

This is a high-impact role for someone who enjoys blending consultative sales, technical understanding, and strategic planning. You’ll serve as both a trusted advisor and growth catalyst—helping customers turn challenges into long-term solutions while shaping the company’s growth trajectory.

Key Responsibilities:

Business Development & Sales Strategy

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities through market research, networking, outreach, and territory planning
  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans to grow market share and increase revenue within assigned territory
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with prospective and existing customers, ensuring long-term partnerships
  • Serve as a consultative sales professional, translating customer needs into BAS and HVAC control solutions

Customer & Industry Engagement

  • Develop relationships with consulting engineers, mechanical contractors, and key stakeholders to increase BAS awareness
  • Position BAS offerings as best-in-class solutions for energy savings and operational efficiency
  • Stay informed on industry trends, emerging technologies, and market conditions to provide informed recommendations
  • Provide customer follow-up post-installation to ensure satisfaction and identify future opportunities

Sales Execution & Collaboration

  • Lead sales discussions and negotiations to achieve mutually beneficial agreements
  • Utilize CRM tools (BidTracer or similar) to track leads, manage pipelines, and forecast opportunities
  • Collaborate with Marketing on targeted campaigns, lead generation, and brand positioning
  • Partner with Estimating and internal teams to gather project details and develop proposals, bids, and contract documentation
  • Coordinate and support project-related activities tied to new business initiatives

Required Skills & Competencies

  • Proven success in business development or sales within BAS, DDC, HVAC controls, or related technical industries
  • Strong understanding of building automation systems, DDC control theory, and HVAC applications
  • Proficiency with CRM platforms (BidTracer preferred) and strong computer skills
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to identify growth opportunities and execute actionable plans
  • Ability to manage multiple initiatives while maintaining strong customer relationships

Qualifications:

  • 3–5+ years of experience in BAS, DDC, or HVAC controls sales or business development
  • Working knowledge of Automated Logic and Honeywell systems preferred
  • Ability to function as an energy-saving consultant and trusted advisor
  • Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering a plus (not required)
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
  • Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering is a plus.
  • Strong communication & presentation skills.
  • Strong ability to solve the financial and business problems for customers by providing high level mechanical solutions in a conceptual manner.
  • Strong computer skills.
