Automated Controls, Inc., the controls division of The Comfort Group, was one of the first Automated Logic dealers in the nation, giving us the benefit of a broad knowledge of how the industry has evolved as well as insight into where the industry is headed. We have the unique ability to figure out how to take your old system and manipulate it to fit your new needs.

The Project Engineer role gets involved from project turnover through system design, controller selection, submittals, programming, networking, field technical support, commissioning assistance, troubleshooting, documentation, and closeout. You’re not sitting in a cubicle engineering something and throwing it over the wall to the field. You stay connected to the project and the people actually building it.

For someone coming into this position, we’re looking for experience in areas like:

  • Automated Logic / WebCTRL
  • Programming
  • Database development
  • Visio/EDS/SystemDraw, experience in creating controls submittals.
  • HVAC/DDC control programming
  • BACnet/IP and MS/TP networking
  • Third-party integrations
  • Ability to read contract documents and understand system design
  • Startup, commissioning, and troubleshooting
  • AHUs, VAVs, RTUs, central plants, boilers, chillers, VFDs, etc.

Field experience absolutely matters to us.

You do not need to have followed the traditional engineering-degree path to be considered. If you’ve spent years in the field installing, programming, starting up, commissioning, and troubleshooting BAS systems, you probably have exactly the kind of practical experience we value.
